| Addiction Recovery -- Learning to Communicate |
| by Rev. Al Hoogewind |
|
Alcohol and drug addictions, like other addictions, create many communication problems for both the addict and the family. Recovery involves learning the skills of listening, empathizing, appropriately asserting oneself, negotiating, confronting and appropriately disclosing oneself.
Beside verbal communication, non-verbal communication awareness is also important for a sober lifestyle. Learn to build healthy relationships by healthy and appropriate communications. |
